November 19, 2021

Consider the more than 34,000 Nyack College and Alliance Theological Seminary alumni who have lived and served in over 90 nations around the world—in addition to students led by faculty who travel to destinations like Israel, Greece, Spain, and Italy for service-learning trips—and you will see why an institutional core value is being globally engaged.

Now a rapidly growing audience of international listeners connect with Nyack College via the school’s radio station, WNYK 88.7 FM, which has reached over 4,500 streaming hours and is heard in over 100 countries.

This month, a Bielefeld, Germany-born recording artist, Michelle Adu-Asah, one of the thousands of WNYK fans around the globe, is in the November “Ministry of the Month” spotlight. When Michelle became a WNYK follower on social media, she caught the attention of the radio station staff, especially when she posted about her interest in studying at Nyack.  The independent gospel artist with Ghanaian roots was recently interviewed by station manager Brad Hickey. You can tune in and hear replay of their conversation on Monday, November 22 at 12 noon and Tuesday, November 30 at 10:00 a.m.

In 2021, Michelle started working on her first projects and released two singles “We Bow Before Your Throne” and “Way to Salvation,” followed by a 15-track album, entitled “Accepted.” Her latest project is a single, “Never Let Me Go,” which will be released today, Friday, November 19.

Michelle, also a talented illustrator and graphic designer, says of her musical gift, “I love to sing, produce my own songs and I also taught myself how to play the drums, keyboard and saxophone. Music and art have always been a big inspiration for me. They go hand in hand so well. I believe that the gifts and talents God has placed within me will be a blessing and an inspiration to others.”
