Solisti Ensemble in Concert at Ocean Grove’s Big Auditorium
July 2, 2021

Professor Byung-Kook Kwak
The Solisti Ensemble, an 11-member group founded by Nyack College School of Music professor Byung-Kook Kwak, will headline a concert on Thursday, July 8 at 7:30 PM in The Great Auditorium, 21 Pilgrim Pathway in Ocean Grove, New Jersey. The program will include works by Brahms, Bach, Handel, Shostakovich, Mozart and Strauss. Returning to the venue by popular demand, this performance is hosted by the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association.
The Solisti Ensemble is comprised of soloists and chamber musicians who debuted on the stage of Stern Hall at Carnegie Hall, has also performed at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, and Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall and were guest musicians with Nyack’s School of Music Chorale at Lincoln Center.
The mission of the group is “to revive the traditions of small-ensemble chamber music while pursuing the rich and vibrant sounds of contemporary, pop, tango, and jazz music.” Also notable about Solisti’s powerful performances is “the unique size of the ensemble and each member’s individual virtuosity and musicality create an extraordinary sound that is quite unlike the conventional classical music culture known today.”
A Julliard School graduate, Professor Kwak has also been a choral conductor for more than three decades and has led countless performances of Handel’s Messiah, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, as well as many other major choral works.
