Showcasing a Nyack/ATS Trifecta
July 28, 2022
It was a Nyack College and Alliance Theological Seminary Commencement ceremony like none other in the 140-year history of the institution! The trifecta of Nyack/ATS graduations was held for the classes of 2022, 2021 and 2020 on Saturday, May 7.
This first-ever Coney Island Amphitheater event was the first in-person graduation for Nyack since 2019. Students, alumni, faculty, staff, trustees, families, friends and special guests came from near and far.
In 2017, Alliance Theological Seminary was asked to partner with the Tin Lanh Church in South Vietnam to help develop a master’s degree program at the Vietnam Institute of Bible and Theology in Ho Chi Minh City. Previously prohibited from traveling to the States because of the pandemic, some two dozen 2020 graduates of the program participated in this year’s graduation. They were joined by church leaders from both the southern and northern regions of Vietnam. A second cohort of this transformative program will launch in fall 2022.
From the prelude to the prayer of blessing, this day was truly a time-capsule worthy chapter in Nyack history.
