Shanice Rapp is the Valedictorian for the Alliance University Class of 2023

Alliance University and the office of Dr. Turk, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, are delighted to announce that Shanice Rapp has been designated Valedictorian of the Class of 2023. This honor is conferred upon the student who attains the highest GPA within their graduating class. Throughout her time at Alliance, Shanice was distinguished as a member of the Alpha Chi National Honor Society; additionally, multiple soccer honor rolls accolades were bestowed upon her, such as Player of the Week, All-Academic Team, Team of the Tournament, and Academic All-District Team recognition. Her major focus was Business Administration and IT.
We asked her to share a few things about herself to get to know her better. Congratulations, Shanice!

Extracurricular activities: Student Ambassador & Women’s Soccer
Why did you decide to attend Alliance U.? I got recruited for the Women’s Soccer Team
What is your most memorable or positive experience at Alliance U? I loved playing soccer for AU and having a season to play. And the city is just WOW!
Who influenced you the most at Alliance U? Trustee Bob Ciminera. He became a mentor to me and helped me to find my way in the professional world.
What was the best class you took in college, and why? Accounting and Web page Design. I love numbers and accounting was very logical and natural for me and I love how creative I could be in Web Page Design.
What would you tell someone considering coming to Alliance U? The location is unbeatable and I love the diversity here.
Do you have any advice for current or future students? Pursue your studies in what you enjoy doing the most – work to live, don’t live to work!
Where was your favorite place to spend your free time?
Central Park when it is warm and sunny ☀️ and then the waterfront.
What were your go-to snacks? Nutella to go.
What song will always remind you of this time in your life? Empire State of Mind by Jay-Z and Alicia Keys
