Dr. Robles was highly regarded by colleagues and peers. A testament to her contribution to Nyack’s core value of academic excellence was shared by a colleague who supported her candidacy for joining the Nyack faculty. “She knows her subject matter and is able to communicate it well. She is demanding of her students, sets high academic standards for them and does not let them cut corners.”
Another stated in a letter, “She is an excellent role model for her students as a Christian professional in a field of study that, unfortunately, brings with it a degree of skepticism. Carol encounters any distrust of the discipline with a professionalism and compassion that encourages one to listen and comprehend. Her concern for the students is quite evident in the amount of time she spends interacting with them outside of the classroom. She has a wonderful sense of humor which endears her to her students. I am profoundly impressed by her insight and interpersonal skills.”
Instructor evaluations of Dr. Robles submitted by her students communicated how deeply she was loved and respected. Some of the commonly shared sentiments follow.
“Dr. Robles is an excellent professor. She’s dynamic and makes the class interesting.”
“What I appreciated most about Dr. Robles is her preparation to teach, her worldview of knowledge and her intensity of information and delivery.”
“The work is demanding; however, very fair and necessary for us to attain competence. I would not change anything in this course.”
“Dr. Robles is my favorite professor yet at AGSC! She has a deep and insightful command of the material as well as an admirably constructive and positive approach to subject matter, which helped me understand to understand and apply knowledge.
The impact Dr. Carol Robles had on the lives of countless students is one that will continue to live on as they serve others.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to a scholarship being established in honor of Dr. Robles is preferred. Information on the scholarship is forthcoming and will be shared.
Please keep the Robles family in your thoughts and prayers.
