Campus corporate prayer is held every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at noon. Phone in to the conference call at 978.990.5000 and use access code 210590#. This special half hour is set aside to offer thanks, praise and petitions to God for our campus, our communities, our nation and the world.
Nyack’s recently appointed Vice President for Institutional Advancement, Dr. Doug Birdsall will be the chapel speaker on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 beginning at 5:15 PM. Dr. Birdsall comes to Nyack with four decades of experience in cross-cultural and international leadership in Christian ministry and education. He is the current honorary chair of The Lausanne Movement and the Asian Access Ambassador-at-Large and the former executive chairman of the Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization. He also served as the president and CEO of the American Bible Society and was the founding director of the Wilson Center for World Missions at his alma mater, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, where he earned a Master of Divinity. His Ph.D. was earned in 2012 at the Oxford Centre for Mission Studies in England.
Praise and worship will be led by 2008 Nyack College alumnus Gabe Tringale and assistant pastor at Risen King Alliance Church in New City, NY, where he is the worship pastor and oversees the Media Department. After 10 years as an eighth grade English teacher in the Newark, NJ public schools, he joined the Risen King pastoral staff.
Thursday, October 28, 2021, Rev. Peter Arruda, president of New York School of Urban Ministry based in Long Island City, NY will be the chapel speaker. He has been an urban missionary for the past 30 years and is a member of the Council of Elders Board for Elim Fellowship in Lima, NY. He graduated from Elim Bible Institute in 1980 and earned a bachelor’s degree in religion and philosophy in 1981 from Houghton College.
Praise and worship will be led by Dr. Tammy Lum, a Nyack College School of Music professor and director of the keyboard performance program. Dr. Lum is an international performer and winner of many music competitions. She is also a member of the Amasi Trio, Nyack’s Trio-in Residence.
