Nyack College and Alliance Theological Seminary (ATS) has established an articulation agreement with Long Island-based CenterPoint Church and its Equip School of Bible and Theology. One of the largest ministries in The Christian and Missionary Alliance (CMA) Metro District, CenterPoint Church has sites located in Bay Shore, Kings Park, Long Beach, Massapequa, Stony Brook and Holbrook, with a seventh campus opening in Central Nassau in fall 2022.

Lead pastor Brian McMillan has taken the decree of Ephesians 4:12—“to equip saints for the work of ministry,” and multiplied the seed of the church he planted two decades ago.

The spark for that bold step became a flame ignited by Brian’s meeting with Dr. Ron Walborn, dean of ATS and Nyack’s School of Bible and Christian Ministry. Dr. Walborn’s office door and his heart were open to pray with this Nyack student, encouraging Brian to pursue church planting. Both can look back on their encounter as a kairos moment paving the way to what has manifested now.

Walborn and McMillanEquip School offers a 15-course educational program. Two tracks of study are available: courses 1-13 provide Equip Certification and courses 1-15 are a bridge to enter the licensing and ordination process with The Christian and Missionary Alliance. Upon completion of the fifteen courses, graduates can transfer six credits to an undergraduate degree at Nyack College or a graduate degree at Alliance Theological Seminary degree.

This powerful partnership will be the launching pad for more Kingdom work and for more personally transforming opportunities that await prospective students at Nyack College and ATS.
