Eric Vartanian, CFP/CKA Visits Personal Finance Class
April 18, 2022

Dr. Gordon Boronow
Dr. Gordon Boronow, associate professor of business in Nyack’s School of Business and Leadership, recently hosted Eric Vartanian, a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Certified Kingdom Advisor (CKA) as a featured guest speaker in his Personal Finance class (BUS 242). The independent financial advisor joined Hampton Square Wealth Management based in Augusta, New Jersey after serving as an investment consultant with Fidelity Investments.
Mr. Vartanian shared his career path in financial planning with the students, emphasizing how he intentionally chose a biblically based approach to advising clients. While pursuing secular CFP credentials, he joined Hampton Square Wealth Management and continued his education to earn the CKA designation. This professional credential has the distinction of additional education and experience needed to go beyond secular knowledge to engage biblical wisdom in financial matters. With the CKA credential, he is a part of the Kingdom Advisor network of Christian financial advisors, developed by Ron Blue, founder of the Ron Blue Institute.
The Ron Blue Institute Center at Nyack College is an affiliate of the network of Christian colleges and universities who use the resources of the Ron Blue Institute to develop the next generation of Christian financial advisors. In 2021, the New York State Education Department approved the creation of a new concentration in wealth management for Nyack business majors, with a foundational course in Biblical Financial Planning.
The classroom visit with Mr. Vartanian is just one example of the kind of forum that faculty provide for students to meet successful professionals in industries that interest them.
