Education at ATS Celebrated by Korean Alumni Association

October 19, 2022

Who could be better cheerleaders for an institution of higher education than alumni?

At Alliance University, graduates leave with so much more than a degree. But that coveted destination of graduation is rivaled only by what took place along the way to Commencement Day. When alumni get together, it becomes a stroll down Memory Lane that no one wants to end.

That was the case when members of the Alliance Theological Seminary Korean Alumni Association gathered recently at Tallman Mountain State Park in Sparkill, NY on a warm autumn day to picnic.

Christy Choi, Alliance University Director of Library Services was among the group of 25 men and women. They enjoyed each other’s company and remarks shared by the chairman and officers of their alumni association. In addition to feasting on delicious food, their souls were fed with a beautiful devotion shared by Dr. Jin Tae Kim, a former ATS professor of New Testament and Greek.

These enthusiastic alumni are doing more than spreading the word about Alliance Theological Seminary. Because of the impact an ATS education has had on their lives, they have purposed to show the value they place on that experience in a tangible way.

Mrs. Choi shares that the ATS Korean Alumni Association is planning to visit the 2 Washington Street campus near Battery Park this month with scholarships for three incoming or returning Korean seminary students. This generous gesture is something they extended to ATS students last year.

What better way to pay forward an extraordinary educational experience?
