BachFest 2023!

April 4, 2023

BachFest is an annual production of the music department where Johann Sebastian Bach’s birthday (1685-1750) is celebrated with a concert of his music. This year the concert’s producer, Prof. Margrit Zimmerman, focused on the sacred works of Bach. Bach had a long career as a church musician and cantor, and his musical settings of sacred texts have had his works nicknamed “the fifth gospel.” BachFest, like all music department events, is open to the public. This concert, held on March 30th, featured lectures and performances from the school of music faculty, shining a light into the works of one of music’s giants. Alliance University is, first and foremost, a Christian university looking to spread the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, and Bach certainly delivers the word in spectacular musical accompaniment.
