ATS Student, Jessica Ng, Leads Alliance Youth in a Labor of Love
April 19, 2022
“Labor intensive.”
That’s how Alliance Theological Seminary student, Jessica Ng, describes the time invested in serving more than 300 campers at the spring retreat hosted by Alliance Metro Youth at Lake Champion in Glen Spy, NY earlier this month.
Jessica not only served, but modeled servant leadership for the 35 middle and junior high students she brought with her to volunteer at the weekend event. She, and the youth under her supervision, demonstrated the vision of her home church, Queens Herald Church in Fresh Meadows, NY, which is to be a family where God’s love works.
“Serving others with nothing in return was humbling and allowed us to experience Jesus’ radical love for others in a fun and new way,” she explains. Her volunteers had the opportunity to prepare all meals, set up, serve and clean tables in addition to doing some landscaping work for the campsite during the weekend.
Jessica, who is earning her Master of Professional Studies at ATS, works as Youth Ministry Coordinator at Queens Herald, a Christian and Missionary Alliance church where worship services are currently conducted online in Mandarin, Cantonese and English.
