Alumna Courtney Peay (NC ’13, ATS ’18) TIU Head Women’s Basketball Coach

Courtney Peay, a former five-season assistant women’s basketball coach at Nyack College, has been named Trinity International University’s new head coach of women’s basketball.

She is the 14th head coach and the first female African American head coach at the Bannockburn, IL school. In September 2020, she became TIU’s assistant women’s basketball coach and served as the interim coach following the departure of Coach Irvin Jerry, who ended his tenure this past spring.

Warriors champsCourtney was a Nyack Warrior for her four years of undergraduate studies and was a member of Nyack’s historic 2009-2010 Central Atlantic Athletic Conference championship team.

A youth and family studies major at Nyack, Courtney also earned a Master of Divinity at Alliance Theological Seminary with a concentration in church development. She is pursuing a master’s degree in psychology and counseling, before beginning a Ph.D. program.
