Current and incoming students may be eligible for merit-based scholarships, grants, and campus-based funds that are awarded annually by Student Financial Services. Eligibility for these awards is based on meeting specific criteria as outlined in the award descriptions. Students are encouraged to apply for multiple scholarships and grants annually to maximize their eligibility and award amounts.

Scholarships & Grants
Alliance University scholarships and grants can be combined up to a maximum of $10,000. A student eligible for large award amounts including the Alliance University Scholars Program (up to $12,000), Music Grant (up to $10,000), or C&MA grant program (up to $12,500) will not be eligible for additional grants on top of these awards.
Renewal of scholarships and grants is always dependent upon each student making Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). For details of requirements and all Alliance University Financial Aid policies, refer to the University Catalog.
Listed below are the scholarships and grants Alliance University offers students enrolling in the 2022-2023 academic year. Final awards are determined through your Award Letter received upon acceptance to Alliance University.
Academic Grants
Alliance University Scholars Grant – $3,000-$12,000
Awarded based on high school GPA (over 3.0) and SAT or ACT scores. Eligibility is limited to first-year students. Students who meet high school GPA and SAT or ACT criteria may be eligible for Alliance University Scholar awards ranging from $3,000 to $12,000. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required for award renewal each year.
Transfer Scholars Grant – $3,000-$7,000
Awarded to students transferring from programs at other accredited institutions. Recipients must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 to receive this grant. Awards range from $3,000 to $7,000 based on GPA. A student must have transferred at least 20 credits or taken more than one full-time semester to be eligible for this grant. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 at Alliance University is required for award renewal.
National Honor Society Grant – $1,000
Awarded to all incoming freshmen that are active members of a National Honor Society chapter in their high school. Transferring students are not eligible for this grant. A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required for award renewal.
Dean's List Scholarships – $800
Annual awards based on being named to the Dean’s List during prior semesters at Alliance University. Students on the Dean’s List (3.5 semester GPA or higher with full-time enrollment) both semesters (Fall 22 and Spring 23) will be awarded $800 for 2022-2023. This scholarship is for returning students only who are enrolled full-time.
Endowed Scholarships – $3,000-$10,000
Available to returning students who re-enroll full-time for the 2022-2023 school year. Students must submit an application and have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher during the prior semester in order to apply. Amounts vary and scholarship awards are not renewable and are only valid for one year.
C&MA Grants
C&MA Undergraduate Grant Program – up to $12,500
New and transfer students from C&MA churches are eligible for Alliance University grants in addition to other grants. Eligibility is based on full-time enrollment and requires a 2.5 cumulative GPA for renewal.
Ministry Grants
Ministry/Community Service Grant – $1,000-$2,000
Students who confirm community and/or church involvement may receive up to $1,000. Similarly, those involved in leadership in these areas may receive up to $2,000 based on demonstrated leadership. A 2.5 cumulative GPA must be maintained for renewal.
City Ministry/Church Partner – $2,000
Any student who is involved with a partner organization and enrolls as a new full-time student is eligible for a $2,000/year grant. A 2.5 cumulative GPA must be maintained for renewal.
Summer Camp Grant – $500-$1,200
Any incoming students who worked the prior summer at an approved camp (Delta Lake, Camp-of-the-Woods, Beulah Beach, or Mont Lawn Camp) for a minimum of 6 weeks will be given a $500/year grant. Any currently enrolled students who worked the prior summer at an approved camp will be awarded up to $1,200 in addition to all other grants received for that one school year. HEOP and Tuition Remission students are not eligible. A 2.5 cumulative GPA is required for renewal and/or eligibility.
Specialized Grants
Music Grant – $3,000-$10,000
Grants awarded to new students who demonstrate talent in music based on an audition before music faculty. Grant is renewable if the student maintains a 2.5 GPA and is in good standing with the Music Department, i.e. participation in rehearsals, community concerts, worship in local churches, and a minimum number of performances.
First Generation Student Grant – up to $2,000
Awarded to any new student who is the first person in their family to go to college. Requires a minimum 2.5 GPA for renewal.
International Student Grant – up to $4,000
A grant awarded to any international student with a non-citizen, non-resident status. Requires a minimum 2.0 GPA for renewal.
Legacy Grant – up to $2,000
This grant is awarded to new students who have had one or more family members graduate from Alliance University. This grant requires a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA for renewal.
Back to School Over 30 Grant – $3,000-$5,000
Awarded to any new student over the age of 30 pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree. This grant requires a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA for renewal.
Schroeder Barnabas Grant – $2,500-$10,000
This grant is awarded according to a student’s financial need. This grant requires a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA for renewal.
